In the Outreach ring we are connecting tech training, after-school and summer camps with volunteers, teacher and mentors throughout Ohio.

Here are some opportunities:

High School Coding Camp Details:
High School Coding Camp is a full-day, one or two week-long real-world technology experience that puts students in the role of creating and designing with technology—not just using and consuming it.  In addition to developing technical and 21st century skills, the students in these camps are also exposed to NEO companies, IT professionals and information about educational and career pathways in the region.  Students will learn C# programming and computer science concepts while using the industry-standard Visual Studio integrated development environment throughout their camp experience.

Cost: The camp is FREE thanks to our generous sponsor, Battelle.

Here’s an example of a new outreach effort from NCWIT:

TECHNOLOchicas, co-produced with the Televisa Foundation, is a national initiative designed to raises awareness among young Latinas and their families about opportunities and careers in technology.

Powerful stories highlight the lives of Latinas from diverse backgrounds and environments who are in technology fields and recognize the power of innovation to change the world. These stories allow girls to perceive TECHNOLOchicas as “relatable” role models who are similar to themselves and are promoted through several communication channels, including broadcast television, local events, social media, and online videos.

Visit the TECHNOLOchicas site for videos, events, and resources for encouraging Latinas to pursue computing.
